Harbek Granitefist is an energetic, flame-haired dwarf with a coarse red beard, unusually long arms, and a slightly hunched posture that makes him appear taller than he first seems. A skilled miner, stoneworker, and shrewd negotiator, Harbek holds the title to the local quarry and has transformed it into a remarkably profitable operation, dramatically increasing its production of granite and limestone while claiming to have uncovered valuable deposits of quartz and gold. Although many villagers consider him humorless, unkind, and somewhat unsettling, others respect his business sense and remember that Harbek and his reclusive clan recently helped defeat a band of slavers, rescue their captives, and restore a measure of safety to the surrounding countryside.
