The World of Greyhawk Full Zoom Map Classic Map

The World of Greyhawk "Welcome to the Flanaess, a land of ancient mystery and high adventure. As you enter the world of Greyhawk, you step into the original sandbox of fantasy roleplaying, where the line between hero and mercenary is thin. In this world, the wilderness is unforgiving, demanding grit from those who wish to survive. From the Free City’s corrupt streets to the depths of Castle Greyhawk, political intrigue is as lethal as a dragon’s breath. Whether seeking lost magic or defying the shadow of Iuz, your choices will shape the fate of Oerth.

You will walk the paths of legends like Mordenkainen, navigating a landscape scarred by war and shifting power. The World of Greyhawk does not hand out glory—it's earned through steel, spellcraft, and the alliances you forge against the dark. Sharpen your blade and ready your wits; your journey into the heart of adventure begins now. . . ."

« B/X D&D »

B/X stands for Basic/Expert D&D, which is a two-part boxed-set ruleset originally published by TSR in 1981.

Key features:
B/X Dungeons & Dragons is an edition of the original Dungeons & Dragons game, it was designed to provide rules and flexible procedures for fantasy adventures.

• The Basic Set (Red/Magenta Box): This was edited by Tom Moldvay in the year 1981, this set covers dungeon crawling adventures for character levels 1 through 3.
• The Expert Set (Blue Box): This was edited by David Cook and Steve Marsh in 1981, this set expands the game into wilderness travel, hex crawling, and high-level play up to level 14 (and even beyond).
• Race as Class: In B/X, non-human races like Dwarves, Elves, Halflings etc function as their own character classes rather than separate choices from a profession.
• Procedural Play: The B/X D&D game relies on strict mechanics for tracking time, wandering monsters, and resource management.
• Reaction & Morale: Dungeon Masters use explicit dice rolls to see how monsters react to the party (instead of assuming instant combat is the first course of action) and if monsters lose the will to fight and flee.
• Clear Presentation: B/X Dungeons & Dragons divides the game between the Basic & Expert rulebooks, making the system more approachable for beginners while gradually introducing a more broader campaign play.
• House Ruling: Because B/X D&D shares core foundations with other systems like BECMI, Old-School Essentials, and early Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (1st edition), and it is very easy to add many house rules, new classes from other systems, new monsters, advanced spells, and various other mechanics from other compatible systems.
