Portown is a small but busy settlement that lies on the coastline of the Azure Sea. Directly north is the Dreadwood, and to the east lies the settlement of Portown. With a population of only about three hundred people, most of the citizens of Portown are fishermen, catching black trout and bass out of bay and selling their catch across the the Viscounty of Salinmoor and southern Keoland.
Portown also has a small stone mining operation just east of the settlement that produces granite and limestone. This tiny human settlement lies just off of the Kingfisher River which flows down the center of Salinmoor. The folk here make a meager living by trading smoked fish to nearby settlements and towns. It maintains a standing population of approximately 300 citizens year round.
The population does not fluctuate from season to season much, the warmer months might bring an increase to the population somewhat due to folk visiting and such. The settlement sees a small amount of traffic from travelers who usually stop at the Green Dragon Inn but shortly after are moving on, and is used more as a crossroads rest stop than anything else. The settlement sits right on the waters edge. Some farming but mostly fishing are the primary source of income for Portown although the location does have a small smithy which sometimes trades with outside settlements. Their are "some" shops located here as well as the Green Dragon Inn "which surprisingly serves some of the finest food along the coast". Like many small settlements across Keoland, Portown has autonomy in how it governs itself, electing its own officials and imparting its own brand of justice as long as these laws abide by the standing laws of Keoland. Only when issues go outside their expertise or infringe upon another jurisdiction are they prone to ask for aid or upscale the matter to outside sources. The settlement is governed by Mayor Thranick Karn. Portown has no real standing miltia, only a few locals "former adventurers" that casually keep watch over the settlement but, it has seen no trouble in a very long time - that is, until recently. The region has become a little harder for the population of the region to live in peace in the recent past but not to the point that it has become a serious problem.

Despite its humble appearance, Portown has developed a reputation as a dependable harbor for vessels traveling the southern coast of Keoland. The town's sheltered bay provides a safe anchorage from the often-unpredictable waters of the Azure Sea, making it a welcome refuge for fishing boats, merchant cogs, and the occasional naval patrol.
Small warehouses and weathered docks line the waterfront, where fishermen unload the day's catch while traders barter for fresh seafood, stone, lumber, and other local goods. Though commerce is modest compared to larger ports such as Seaton or Gradsul, the steady rhythm of ships arriving and departing ensures that Portown remains an important waypoint for those traveling through Salinmoor.

Life in Portown is quiet and predictable, with most folk knowing nearly every face they pass on the streets. The ringing of the smith's hammer, the cries of gulls overhead, and the smell of fresh fish drying along the docks have become as familiar to the townsfolk as the tides themselves. Festivals are small but heartfelt affairs, often centered around successful fishing seasons or local holidays observed throughout Keoland, drawing nearly the entire community together.
Although rumors of pirates, strange creatures, and troubles beyond the horizon occasionally reach the village by passing sailors, most residents have long believed such dangers belong elsewhere. That comforting belief, however, has begun to erode as unsettling events slowly creep closer to Portown's shores, threatening to disturb the peaceful life its people have enjoyed for generations.
